Stepping into streetwear fashion by breaking the old mold.
With The Break, Biankeye’s SS25 collection, the studio performs an act of deliberate translation, mining its own archive to chart a path forward. Drawing directly from its Dopamine Decor art prints produced between 2022 and 2024, the studio reimagines and reworks these earlier illustrations into a series of graphic t-shirts. Here, playful, idiosyncratic details are introduced not merely as decoration, but as an extension of what it means to visually mediate joy in our current moment.
SS25 positions itself as an initial departure—a venture into garment making for the Canadian studio. Yet, to view this moment as a clean break is to misread the trajectory of Biankeye’s practice.
In 2022, the studio operated within the familiar cadence of streetwear, producing t-shirts attuned to the sensibilities of "hustle culture." Its subsequent, abrupt turn toward printmaking and illustration was not a abandonment of textiles, but a necessary pause. That period of artistic incubation allowed Biankeye to refine its visual grammar, returning to the t-shirt not as a simple canvas for branding, but as an intentional object of craft.
In returning to fashion, Biankeye makes a compelling case for the fluidity between contemporary printmaking and wearable art. By keeping all design work strictly in-house, the studio asserts a commitment to creative autonomy, ensuring that both its visual art and its garments remain part of a single, continuous dialogue.
