Corey Descant has spent more than a decade building a name for himself behind the scenes of entertainment. Based in Marksville, Louisiana, Descant is a videographer, graphic designer, filmmaker, and creative mentor whose work reflects the kind of consistency that often powers independent music and film from the ground up.

Corey Descant’s Creative Evolution From Graphic Design to Film

His journey began in artist development after being discovered by Cambjammin and joining Gorealla Records. During that time, Descant started designing graphics, cover art, and visual branding for artists throughout the region. What began as a creative opportunity quickly became a serious foundation, allowing him to sharpen his design skills while learning how visuals influence the way music is received.

From there, Corey Descant continued building his resume with Poker Club Recordings before joining the media team at Area 61 Studios. His work expanded across graphics, cover art, videography, and eventually film production. Over time, he became known for his ability to move between different creative roles without losing focus on quality.

One of his most notable design credits includes the cover art for Mista Cain and Playboyxo’s single “Tic Tok,” a release that surpassed one million views and helped earn Corey Descant a platinum plaque. His graphic design work has also been connected to artists such as Maine Muzik, Boosie Badazz, Mo3, and MarleyG, placing him in the orbit of respected names across Southern hip-hop.

But Corey Descant’s career did not stop at graphic design.

After years of working in visual branding, he picked up a camera and began learning videography by shadowing photo shoots with his mentor, JRich. That hands-on experience helped him develop a new creative lane. Soon after, he began directing and producing music videos for local artists, turning his understanding of graphics and composition into full-motion storytelling.

Since then, Corey Descant has produced more than 100 music videos, earning hundreds of thousands of views across platforms. His video work includes a project for V-LO The Maestro that surpassed one million views, further proving his ability to create visuals that connect with audiences beyond his local market.

His work can be seen across several projects, including an award-winning music video available on YouTube, a million-view video, and one of his personal favorite directed projects. Descant has also appeared on a podcast where he discussed his journey and creative background.

In recent years, Descant has stepped deeper into film. Now in his third year working in the film world, he has already taken home wins at five different film festivals, including the London Film Festival. That transition marks an important evolution in his career, showing that his skills are not limited to music visuals or cover art. Instead, Corey Descant is building toward a broader presence in film, production, and storytelling.

Adding to that momentum, he is stepping into the role of Executive Producer for an upcoming project connected to an award-winning film franchise. For a creative who began designing graphics for artists in Louisiana, the move into executive production represents a major step forward.

Still, what makes Corey Descant’s story stand out is not only the work he has done, but also the way he shares what he has learned. Beyond creating visuals, he is passionate about teaching videography and graphic design to others who want to grow in the field. His focus on giving back reflects a larger purpose: helping the next wave of creatives understand the tools, discipline, and vision needed to succeed.

In an entertainment landscape where visual identity matters more than ever, creators like Descant play a major role. Cover art, music videos, film visuals, and digital branding can shape how an artist or project is remembered. Descant has built his career by understanding that connection and continuing to evolve with the industry.

With more than a decade of experience across graphic design, videography, music videos, and film, Corey Descant has become a respected creative force in entertainment. From Louisiana studios to festival-winning film work, his career shows what can happen when talent, mentorship, consistency, and community come together.
